Brico
Shortened from the word bricoleur, a french term, which refers to a person who draws from a diverse range of means to create something new, Brico is a bricolage of my own experiences, drawing from my travels around the world.

Despite the very short length of time I spent in Wellington, I had a very good experience. There were tons of shops and restaurants, the Te Papa museum and a nice waterfront walk. I walked around the museum for a few hours, looking at sea life, animals and earthquake, volcanic, photography, fashion and painting exhibits. Then we walked along the waterfront, bought some ice cream from a honey shop and tasted a bunch of different honeys, including “beenutbutter” and made our way back to the ferry terminal.
We were the last two on the ferry! First, the bus was late… surprise, surprise, 2nd when we got to the ferry our bags got stuck in the locker. We had shoved, two backpacking packs, a small roller suitcase, hiking shoes and a computer bag so it was really full. We thought the key had re-locked it, so I asked a guy at the front desk for help. While he was getting his manager, Chloe managed to release our bags from captivity. Earlier we had decided to wait until departure to pay, so we had to get out our money and deal with that. Then we ran up the ramp, handed a guy our tickets and boarded, out of breath and grateful that we somehow managed to figured everything out. Now I;m on the ferry, looking out the window at the South Island. It looks so much like Alaska, with the turquoise water, masses of dense foliage, green, green, green! I’m having trouble believing I’m in New Zealand and not back in Alaska. Jorden, we will have to come back here after we graduateJ
I’ve realized today how much money one saves while WWOOFing because you don’t have to pay for food, which I eat a lot of… I’ve spent 5.50 (butter chicken pie/chocolate), 3.00 (Naan), 4.00 (carmel dessert… only bc I needed to use Wifi at this café), 4.50 (honey ice cream), 8.50 (pita pit), 4.50 (coffee… I thought I was ordering wine bc it said “flat white” apparently that is some sort of espresso, I am going to be wired tonight!). I think I went on a junk binge because I had been eating so healthy. We would have oatmeal with fruit for breakfast, salad and zucchini bread or vegetable sandwiches for lunch and vegetable dishes for dinner. Obviously, they are vegetarian and it was the most delicious food, but I started craving junk food after the 4th day… and then went overboard. Now I’m so hyper! I really shouldn’t have caffeine, especially in confined areas!!!
The ferry ride was very calm opposed to what I’ve been told about this particular ride. Apparently ferries have been lost in the crossing because it is a very dangerous waterway.
